Bay Colony Brass: Celebration!

Sunday, March 12, 3 p.m.

On Sunday, March 12 Bay Colony Brass presents Celebration! an afternoon of electric and eclectic works for large brass ensemble. Led by Music Director Patrick Valentino and Assistant Conductor Teresa Herfindahl, Bay Colony Brass will explore the many aspects of celebration in a diverse program.

The program includes major works like Eric Ewazen’s rhythmic Symphony in Brass and Richard Strauss’ noble Festival Procession, and also smaller classics like an all-brass arrangement of Percy Grainger’s Shepherd’s Hey and music from Handel’s Royal Fireworks Music.

The concert explores the more personal side of celebration with hidden gems like the grateful “Prayer” from Hansel & Gretel, as well as polyphonic works for multiple brass choirs playing from all corners of the room! Come spend an afternoon with Bay Colony Brass, and join the Celebration!

Bay Colony Brass is one of the few large brass choirs in the United States. Composed of twenty players, the group performs a broad range of repertoire spanning five centuries of brass and orchestral music.
